I started this newsletter a year ago as Twitter’s usefulness began circling the drain. A year later and there are over 1,500 of you who have signed up for my (mostly) weekly ramblings about the inadequacies of crime data. I haven't quite reached the dizzying heights of my 2006 Blogspot blog on Texas athletics, but we're getting close!
I was traveling last week, the kids are out of school, and yesterday was a solemn day for Jewish people to eat Chinese food (and also hopefully a Merry Christmas for those of you who observe it). The kids are still out of school this week and my Longhorns play on January 1st (Hook ‘em!) which has zapped my ability to concentrate on crime data and parenting.
In other words, I’m taking a short break this week. But I did want to say thank you for subscribing, reading, and sharing. I'm hoping year two will go just as well as year one has. In the meantime, here are a few links to some of the stuff I wrote this year that I think aged pretty well (I won’t link to my local news segments on the Saints making the playoffs).
All the best and a Happy New Year!
Jeff

Husky Nation feels otherwise here in the PNW, Go Dawgs! Thank you for the great and inciteful articles this past year, and I hope we all have a safe and peaceful 2024.
