We'll see if the quarterly reports continue to average roughly 2.4% too optimistic, but I could imagine it turning out to be a normal pattern if the FBI doesn't actively oppose the tendency towards undercounts due to crimes being added to the list after the cutoff date and bad news being reported later than good news.
The FBI just “revised” their crime statistics, without any announcement or fanfare explaining the changes.
The “new” data shows Medicare’s a 4.5% INCREASE in crime for 2022.
