Jeff-alytics Podcast Episode 2: Can Data Change the Way We See Crime? with Laura Arnold
A new podcast for a new day!
The Jeff-alytics podcast is back with Episode 2! Today I talk with Laura Arnold, co-founder and co-chair of Arnold Ventures, about the significant gap between crime data and public perception — and what that gap means for public policy. It’s a great conversation about how to best build the future of effective criminal justice policy.
Laura’s work has been enormously impactful in the development of smart, evidence-backed solutions to extremely tricky problems. My project, the Real-Time Crime Index, owes its existence to Arnold Ventures, so it was a delight to talk to Laura about how she got into the world of philanthropy and her approach to improving the criminal justice system.
Give it a listen above, on the AH Datalytics website, on Spotify/Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts. Also, I’d be grateful if you subscribe so you get future episodes when they're released and if you feel like leaving a (glowing) review that’d be great too.
Next episode (in two weeks) I interview Philip Bump about the data showing the gap between perceptions and reality and how he uses data to effectively communicate.
